SATHYA SAI MATRUMANDIR PROJECT

The design of the project is such that Sri Sathya Sai Matru Mandir is a sweet learning temple meant to provide motherly love and care to impecunious girls. It is a home-like informal pre-school which will develop the children's physical, intellectual, emotional, social and spiritual aspects and tenderly prepare them for formal schooling. It is an educational and all-round developmental initiative for the benefit and welfare of underprivileged children from economically deprived families with an aim to provide them with complete educational and vocational support until they develop into selfsustaining and productive citizens.

The project is designed and created for girls with single parents and coming from families in underprivileged and tribal areas living under below poverty line. The design of the project is such that Sri Sai Seva Charitable Trust will sponsor the children from the age of 5-6 years for their complete education (books, schooling, etc.) and other (food, clothing, and hosteling) facilities. For the first one year, the children studied in the separate wing of the Trusts existing school, “Sri Sathya Sai Vidyaniketan, with an aim to create a strong foundation and to prepare them to enter the main stream school from Std. 1 onwards. Thus, from Std. 1, they will be able to study along with the other general students of Sri Sathya Sai Vidyaniketan. Further, Sri Sai Seva Charitable Trust takes complete responsibility till they finish their H.S.C. and become independent. Now, in the academic year 2019-20 the first batch of Matru mandir girls is in Std. 4 and second batch is in Std. 3 and they are their performing best in all the fields.
